Because, let's face it, Dhur is one of those guys that if he existed in the real world would be tooling around on the biggest, loudest, most obnoxious Harley he could lay his mitts on.
It's been brought to my attention that The Unnamed Royal Adventuring Company #47 (our heroes) have been woefully bereft of actual treasure during their travels. Will that change? Wait and see!
Take care,

Nice to see the complexities of traveling between planes work in their favor for a change. When they left the city I was figuring it would be a few minutes for them and months for the city.
If it was months, the guards wouldn’t have recognized Philo so fast.
Why would anyone gold-plate a riding hog? The motion of the skin and bristles would make the gold flake off, wouldn’t it?
Or does Dhur mean plate barding like that used on those other riding animals?
The Hardly Rideable? Yeah, I figured he’d be looking for a dire boar mount in gold plate barding too…
I actually had war boars in my Earthdawn campaign, but for characters under 5′ tall only (though it turns out that a really well-fed boar can grow as big as a brown bear), with a penalty to control for anyone whose strength was below 15.
Additionally, they had to be obtained from one of the two (insular, remote, suspicious) northern dwarf tribes that actually used them for mounts.
