Something occurred to me the other day. I occasionally write in what I call, for lack of a better term, "caveman dialect." I do this especially when writing creatures that are of, shall we say, sub-standard intelligence, such as the giants or Blue Hand Troll. What I never considered was how this might read outside of traditionally English speaking countries. I shudder to consider how a phrase such as "Why not you for say so?" would translate into, say, Portuguese or French. I promise, where the gang is going next, the people there speak impeccable English. Or at least as well as I speak it, which may not be the same thing ;)
By the way, I really need a good name for the Dhur and the rest of them. You know, something like "The Fellowship of the Ring" or "The Heroes of the Lance." I'm getting tired of calling them "our heroes" or "the gang." Any ideas? Post a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Maybe the name of the group depends on which member you ask. Clearly Dhur thinks it’s a bunch of his buddies (“Dhut’s Curs”?) while Jaine knows she’s in charge (“Team Jaine”). As for Ch’p … if he’s pretty much just following along to collect recipes I suppose he might ask “Why does the group need a name?”
how bout “Our Gang of Heroes”? or “Heroes of the Gang”?
or, “The Ardris Avengers”, “Heroes of Less than High Renown”, “3 Heroes Looking for Work”, and my favorite “The Recipe Searching, Ax Swinging, Storytelling Band of Misfits: Now with Danger Seeking Dwarf!”
You could just call them The Meat Shields, it would be an OoC name, not what they called themselves, well ‘cept for Dhur.
How about, The Legendary Adventurers in Search of Something Important to DO? Or LASSID! Or The Group Who’s Looking For a Better Name.

Jaine is chronicling these escapades, so obviously she will end up naming the group. My guess is that she has a daily blog that the rest of the party do not know about, yet. It should be interesting when they find out what she really thinks of them. Heh. My guess is that it will be romantic, elegant, and somehow related to music. She is an elven bard princess after all.
