566 – Manners Maketh Man… or Dragon?

One of these days, I'm going to manage to draw my characters "on model," which means that they have a consistent appearance from any angle. That being said, I really like how Gelidek came out in the last panel. :)

That's all I have for now; on Friday, I'll have my thoughts on the new Unearthed Arcana over at the D&D website: Psionics and Mystics!

Take care,

  1. One can hope that Ch’p’s order is wise enough to know how to make species-specific poisons, I guess. You’d think a monastic order of dedicated cooks would know how to disguise the taste and odor of their poisons. ^_^;

    Then again, I suppose they were expecting Mr. Dragon to be a sophisticated connoisseur either. @_@

  2. @Janessa: All saving throws are good for monks, through 4th edition, so yes. In 5th ed, it’s Str and Dex, so, no.

    OTOH, I’d expect a Wyrm of that age to be at least comparable to an ancient dragon, so if Ch’p’s Fort save (or Con in 5e) is at issue, then the poison isn’t likely to be enough.

    TGHI, at tenth level (in 5e, may vary by edition) Monks get an immunity to disease and poison, so, if Ch’p is that high of a level, he’s fine.

    Although some dragons are also immune to poisons…

  3. @Foradain:
    Well, it’s not like I consider 4e or 5e to be *actual* D&D, so I’m glad to hear that he *might* be ok through version 3.5 (I’ve never played a monk, I always play wizards).

    For some reason, non-spellcasters are considered a viable class choice by some people. [shrugs] Oh well, as this comic demonstrates, every party needs meat shields. 🙂

    While they keep any monsters occupied, I’ll resume telling the laws of physics to sit down and shut up. 🙂
