563 – The Lost Masters of the W’Shaa

Go on, Ch'p, it's your birthday, she likes you, it's your birthday...

Actually I've never put it into any of the comics, but today is Ch'p's birthday. Just in case you wanted to get him a present or whatever. :) Not telling what year, though. :)

Take care,

~Rob

  1. Happy Birthday Ch’p! Combine your choice of 1/4 cup almond, sunflower, or peanut butter to 1/2 cup powdered sugar and about 1 tbl spoon butter. Mix thoroughly and break off pieces to form into little balls. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips in a double boiler. Spoon chocolate into candy cup wrapers, add a ball then cover that ball with more chocolate and allow chocolate to harden. You have now learned how to make sunflower, almond or peanut butter cups. When cleaning up the double broiler, pour the hot water into the left over chocolate for really good hot chocolate, plus it keeps chocolate from being wasted.

  2. I was thinking that myself, Marcus. I was expecting them to be more along the lines of random servitor chef-ghosts, or even aerial servants in ghost halfling forms, than W’Shaa masters.

On the other hand, if they’re the LOST masters, then being here instead of where they’re supposed to be might be why they’re ‘lost’. Might have to reread the W’Shaa arc to remind myself of whether they had a spirit archive or not…

@Uncle Bilbo: Doesn’t Ch’p already have something going on with Becky that would make Jaq’s implied invitation somewhat awkward?

  3. It may have been the chefs’ hats, but when I saw them in the previous strip, I was thinking about elves on a box of puffed rice… Although only about one and a half of those three actually wear chefs’ hats. ^_^

But with these names I immediately thought of a trio that doesn’t wear hats, possibly because hats and working on automobiles are contra-indicated.

Nice Pep (Boys) culture reference, Rob!

    (and nicely subtle catch, Marcus!)
