489 – Finger puppets: little known tool of diplomacy

A brief announcement, folks: MeatShield will be going on a temporary hiatus as of June 18th until roughly the 30th, as my family and I begin the arduous process of packing up all our junk and moving – again. Fortunately, the situation we're going into will enable us to save up enough for a down payment on a house in about a year or so. We live in Southern California and the housing out here ain't cheap. That is, unless one you happen to have $45K just rattling around in your wallet with nowhere to go...? Yeah, me neither. ;)

I will have two more strips up before the hiatus starts. I will also be keeping an eye on the comments here and on the MeatShield Facebook Page. Thanks for understanding, folks. :)

Take care,

~Rob

  1. Try to have fun packing. I hope it all goes well and your move is swift and unevent full. CA housing is over priced. TX is much better in that department even if the landscape here is a bit flat. We will most likely still be here waiting to see what happens to UNAC 47.

  2. I swear you guys just moved?! Or has it been longer than I think? Either way, good luck, Godspeed and all that jazz, Rob! See you when you get back.

    1. @okiegoddess: Yeah, it does seem that way, doesn’t it? It’s actually been about a year and a half since we moved into our current place, but our landlady needs to reoccupy it. Long story – suffice to say, it’s all amicable and she’s getting her and her daughter out of a very bad situation. No resentment or anything on my part; heck, I’m thinking of inviting her to join my D&D group! She let us know waaaaay back in January that we would need to move out at the end of June, so we’ve had plenty of notice. My wife and I just figure that this is God’s way of saying, “Hey why don’t you stop it with all the renting and see about buying a house finally?”
