Side note: Khalinor was the name of a ranger I used to play in a friend's D&D campaign in Las Vegas. My Khalinor was human, but the GM, Frank, could never remember that and kept assuming that I was running an elf. So, with this Khalinor, I just decided to give in and make him an elf. :)

And this is why it’s important to rotate your troops out of dull assignments every decade or so. ^_^
I agree with Norman. Even the US army only deploys people for about a year and a half. Marines usually only get 6 month deployments, then again marines are usually in the thick of the fighting.
To be fair, 23 years to an elf is kinda LIKE 6 months to a Marine…except elves always heal their tattoos.
