446 – MeatShield — Year Five!

Woo-hoo! Today marks the fifth anniversary of MeatShield! Back in '09, I started this little strip with a couple of jokes in my head and a song in my heart. Well, that's partly true, except for the song part. I can't sing - or rather, I can sing, but it tends to make small children cry.

Anyway, since 2009, more and more people have been reading the strip and for that I am extraordinarily grateful. Last year, I had posted a video outlining some of my future plans for the strip. Some of them have come true, some of them have been put to the back burner temporarily, and some have kind of been forgotten by me. Mea culpa :) I don't have a video for you today, but I will have a more in-depth post later on about where I would like the strip to go. Until Wednesday, thank you very much for reading. I could not have done any of this without you!

Take care,

~Rob

  1. So, they were only 15 miles off? Not too bad, for a default skill, off of what is certainly not Dhur’s best stat ^_^

In Dhur’s defense, however, the road to Buckridge should not be seeing enough use to be mistaken by the rest of the party for a Southern Trade Road. Unless that’s how all those armies are getting there ^_^

Next question is: Why are all these armies going there? Navigation skills on a par with Dhur’s? Or is there a MacGuffin here?

BTW, 2013-2009=4. Fourth anniversary, start of year 5.

  2. Plus, the stupid map people covered the picture with all them word thingies….and they did not encounter even ONE dotted line along the way!

  3. We had a Barbarian that said something similar to our DM and I kid you not the next dungeon we went through had alternating dark and light flooring. DM explaiend it in such a way that none of us realized the rooms were making a dotted line if we went the most direct way to where the “Evil Wizard “was who sat on a dark throne with dark tilestones coming out in the 4 directions. After the run and a few wrong turns the DM stood the map he had drawn for us of each room as we went through it up and it was a dotted line to the wizard and the throne was sitting on a black “x”. Suffice it to say our DM had a odd sense of humor.
