EDIT: 4/3/13 - As some of you may have read if you keep up with my Twitter feed or the MeatShield Facebook page, I am dealing with a pinched nerve in my right shoulder, which means that my drawing ability has been impacted. I was hoping to have the new strip up today, but that's not going to happen tonight. I will have a new strip up before Saturday night at the very least. Thanks for understanding, folks :) ~Rob

So, it seems Aneira’s hobby is collecting royal notches on her bedpost…
Okay, I did not see this coming.
Okay, I did not see this coming.
I had expected they would give the Verdant Mantle back, and her and the Archmage or whatever would live happily for like 600 or whatever years.
Wait…does this mean Prince Jonus is Jaine’s half-brother? ZOMGTWIST!
She must be a size queen, she has a thing for rulers.
I don’t think Jonus is Jaine’s half-brother. The king had made reference in the past to Jonus’ mother being dead. Also, I think Cinda would have made some more fuss over Jonus being stabbed in the gut.
However, Jonus could wind up being Jaine’s stepbrother. Ack.
Don’t be too upset, Jaine…think of the royal support the Bard’s Guild would enjoy if the king were your stepdad!
This could make Jaine a potential heir to the throne of two kingdoms. The very least a regent untill any potential siblings are grown. This may also lead to the elves expanding their territory/kingdom should anything happen to Aniera and the king should they wed, leaving Jaine the new heir.
While Jaine is the “princess” for lack of a better term, this comic http://www.meatshield.net/archive/lost-in-translation explains how there isn’t really a hereditary monarchy among the elves.
And additionally, if hypothetically Jaina was to be the king’s stepdaughter that would probably give her some form of noble rank, but since she doesn’t have any (human) royal lineage herself, she’d be a lonnnnnng way from the succession in most monarchies.
