273 – Oh no he DIDN’T!

In True Grit (the original version, not the recent remake that I haven't seen yet), there's a scene where Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) confronts Ned Pepper and  yells out "Fill your hands you sonofab*tch!" which means draw your guns so I can kill you in a fair fight. That's kind of what I was going for in that last panel.

See you on Friday!

  1. Becky is definitely going to be another Keladry–protector of the small, and face hungry… (Fans of Tamora Pierce’s world of Tortall can catch the reference)

  2. Thanks Infamous and Mongoose you have just jump started the creation of a new Character for an upcoming D&D game I will be playing [pending DM approval ofcourse],..a Half-Orc Monk [was a foundling raised in Monastery] specializing in “found weapons” [like Tankards] who will train as a Drunken Master Prestige class [one of their abilities is to “insta-drunk” to get into the right fighting mindset]. And of course since I am posting this anyone can feel free to take the idea,…lol. As to the whole Becky thing in the strip,… never back a “mommy” into a corner who is protecting their “child” [and yes pet owners definitely count for this]

  3. Why not? Minmax has ‘furniture’ as a weapon proficiency…. ‘found weapons’ should be perfectly plausible too.

  4. Its not a true bar brawl till someone gets a chair broken over them! Although, I could see Dur not even flinching at that. Maybe Becky too.

  5. And falls under the Brawling skill in the old Iron Crown gaming systems. Get ranks in Brawling, and the world’s your arsenal!
