393 – “Oooo! Shiny!”

Lo, Dhur is reunited with Grinsplitter, which for some reason is all glowy...

OK, my family and I are now 100% settled in the new house and I'm getting more comfortable with working in my studio. My studio. I have wanted a dedicated room all to my own for nothing but my art for a long time now. Wanna see it? Here you go:

My New Studio

I still need some appropriate art on the walls, like some Schulz "Peanuts" prints or Phil Foglio art, but otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it, even if it has to double as a guest room.:)

See you all Friday (For reals. I'm serious and stuff),

  1. Congratulations on the real studio!!!!!!

Oh no, Day’l is in trouble! Dhur reunited with Grinsplitter and getting even more toys? This will be hilarious.

  2. I am probably waaaaay off base but Grinsplitter could very well be “Circumstantially” magical,… meaning when Dhur is raging or some other specific circumstance its magic will show through.

As for the first panel, there really should be a Minions Union or something,…these minimum wage minions are not doing it for the “Ideals of Evil” or anything, they are doing it because its a job usually. Its like the whole “Deathstar” conversation in Clerks,..what about the jo-schmoo guy in the Cantina who was just working a 9-5 as it were,….same goes here, what about the jo-schmoo minion who guards the doors and has no ideological “horse in the race” as it were and just wants to get paid,…..

  3. Lovin’ how the strip is goin’! The SW reference was fun and I’m all excited about Grinsplitter! And dude! Your studio! Niiiiiizzze!

  4. Half orc with a magic axe, fun for the barbarian, terror for everyone else.
Your studio looks nice. Good to keep all of your art stuff in one place.

I have 2 of those myself that I re-conditioned and re-did the handle that I use for Stage Combat when I portray Assam al’Amut Corsair of the Barbary Coast at Pirate Faires. They are decent blades, though if you keep them inside I recommend pulling them out every other month and wiping them down with Hoppes #9 gun oil since the humidity in most houses fluctuates and they tend to get an oxidation tarnish on them.

  6. Congratulations on having a studio of one’s own!

And I just want to say that I love the expression on Guy On The Right in panel 2. That is all.
