174 – Man, that’s gonna leave a mark…

Thanks for all the great tips on how to torment my PCs in the last comic, folks! I plan on using one of them, at the very least. However, since at least two of my players read my comic, I can’t say which ones. They’ll just have to stew in their paranoia πŸ˜‰ BWA HA HA HA!

See you on Friday!

I missed a couple of comics and just caught up. i a couple of favorite “party stoppers”
1. Pit trap on this side of the door triggered by forcing the door open (or just plain old not disarming it the trap).
2. Fake door- door that is just wood on the wall causing damage to the kickers leg, 1d4 slowed movement.
3. Splinter missile door- when force is used to open the door “explodes” into 1d20 shards that blast toward the party that hit for 1d4 a piece.

Of course it just takes some thinking outside the box/core rules. What makes your party tick, and use that to your advantage by taking it away to accomplish your goals. that makes them take your lessons to heart.

Also what edition do you play, 4th? Our group has played all but 4th, and we like the original first edition AD&D. Its a personal favorite of mine because of Gary Gygax’s quote in the Afterword of the DM’s Guide “You are the creator and final arbiter, by ordering things as they should be, the game as a whole first, your campaign next, and your participants thereafter, you will be playing D&D as it was meant to be”

Also I’m very sorry to be so wordy. Have fun and thanks for making such a great webcomic. =]

Those are some awesome suggestions! We are playing 4th edition, using the Scales of War Adventure path adapted to Eberron, because I apparently like making things harder than they need to be. πŸ˜‰
Also, don’t worry about being wordy – I love getting comments like this! πŸ™‚

Once you break them of the habit of kicking in doors, try putting contact poison on the doorknobs.
