261 – Don’t underestimate the killing power of British baked goods :)

For the record, no, I’ve never eaten a crumpet.

A comment was submitted over the weekend that disturbed me. The comment in question was mostly on my artistic skills or lack thereof (which I am actually pretty thick-skinned about), but the commenter ended his missive with a term that means, roughly, “Fornicator of a Maternal Parent.” I’m sure you can figure out what he or she actually said for yourself.

I don’t have a lot of rules regarding the comments, but there is one: NO PROFANITY. MeatShield has always been and will always be a SFW (Safe For Work) site. This extends to the language used in both my blog posts and the comments submitted. Anyone submitting a comment with profanity in it will be banned from the site at the ISP level. OK, I’m taking my Dad hat off now. 🙂

I love it excelent advice Dhur

Dhur has had many fine moments, but this one stands head and shoulders above the rest. I love the facial expression!

I am glad you’re sticking to the “no profanity” policy. It keeps thing civilized.

It’s good to have standard, it help create a better social environment. I approve your decision.

Good for you, first rule of art school never insult the artist. (we are known to carry sharp and pointy objects 😉 )

I’m thinking Becky will do just fine in Tarokka …

(And good for banning insulting dimwits whose mode of clever repartee won’t evolve much beyond !@$#%.)

I’ve heard of Death By Chocolate before, but never Death By Crumpet…

Heck trying to remember but I don’t think I have even seen a @#%^#^& on here much less the actual words. As for artistic skills just remember Picasso and even Van Gogh were told by people of their time that they could not draw either [as both were sketch artists as well as painters],…lol. And atleast your drawing have the facial features in the right place.

@FSilvermane I think the jury’s still out over whether Picasso actually could draw. 😉 I kid somewhat, as there were some of his sketches that actually did show decent drawing ability. But you’d be hard pressed to prove he was good at drawing from, say, Guernica 🙂
