160 – Get your own duckie!

First off, thanks for the great ideas for bonus features for the first MeatShield book! One of them was to make a dossier for Ch’p. I’ve been toying around with updating the dossiers of both Jaine and Dhur, as well as make one for Ch’p, because, sheesh, that Extras page needs updating, y’know? Thanks again for the awesome comments and keep them coming!

Many of you know (or have figured out) that I run a D&D campaign. I’ve been DMing for roughly 22 years (!), off and on, mostly on. However, I’ve never had a TPK. For those not hip to the lingo the kids are using these days, a TPK stands for Total Party Kill, where I as DM have managed to “kill” every single one of my players’ characters. It’s kind of a big deal. Recently, I stepped aside for a session or two to let my brother-in-law try his hand at DMing for the first time (as far as I know). He has managed, in a few sessions to kill almost every character at one point or another, although it’s only a matter of time before he gets his hands on that elusive TPK.

This is my long-winded way of saying that I apparently need to step up my game, as it were. I also think that this tendency to go easy on my players has spilled over into MeatShield. Dhur, Jaine and Ch’p have had it too easy. BWA HA HA HA! (cue melodramatic music).

Ooo! One last thing before I go. I’ve put the Formspring widget back up on the page, just under the Facebook badge. Formspring is a great site that allows you to ask anyone with a Formspring account anything you like. Go check it out! If you have any questions for me, feel free to post them there. I’m looking forward to hearing what you’ve got to say!

Take care,

~Rob
